Backing local sports and recreation in the Eastern Suburbs since 1994, Eastern Suburbs Sports Trust has given over $2 million dollars in grants to the local community.
The Eastern Suburbs Sports Trust is the brain child of Brian Galt, former owner of Pak n Save Kilbirnie, New World Miramar and New World Kilbirnie. While on a study tour of United States in 1996, Brian came across a concept where a local supermarket was giving 2 cents from the sale of every can of baked beans to help fund the build of their local hospital. An idea sparked straight away.
